Outline of Research at the Start	生体内に蓄積した老化細胞は、慢性炎症を引き起こすことで様々な加齢性疾病の病態形成に関与することから、老化細胞の除去は加齢性疾病の新たな治療法・予防法として期待されている。本研究では、老化細胞の生存において重要な役割を果たしているグルタミナーゼ1（GLS1）を阻害することで老化細胞を除去することができる化合物（セノリティック化合物）を、多様な化学構造をもつ天然化合物から探索する。さらに、活性化合物の類縁体の探索および誘導体の調製を行い、構造活性相関に関する知見を得ることで、加齢性疾病の治療薬・予防薬の開発に資する有望なシーズを獲得する。
