Outline of Research at the Start	薬物代謝酵素は医薬品や環境汚染物質の解毒に関与する生体防御機構の一つである。薬物代謝酵素の活性には大きな個人差があり、また同じ個体においても特定の化学物質への曝露により変動することが明らかになっている。医薬品の安全な使用には、薬物代謝活性を変動させる仕組みの解明が不可欠である。先行研究により、シトクロムP450とUDP-グルクロン酸転移酵素という2種の薬物代謝酵素が複合体を形成することで、それぞれの酵素機能が変化することが示唆された。本研究では細胞内における複合体形成の分子機構および制御因子を明らかにすることで、薬物代謝酵素の複合体形成を、新たな薬物代謝活性の変動メカニズムとして位置づける。
