Outline of Research at the Start

がん免疫ワクチン療法は、近年、がん標準治療（手術・化学・放射線療法）により寛解した患者の再発防止やがんの進行遅延を目的とした予防的治療法の位置づけとなりつつある。予防的治療では継続的なワクチン投与が必要となるが、現状のがん免疫ワクチン療法は注射による侵襲的な投与であり、また、通院が必須となることから患者の身体的、経済的負担が大きい。そこで本研究では、注射に代わる新たな投与経路として、患者自身あるいは介助者による投与が可能で、負担を大幅に軽減できる経鼻投与の利用に着目し、2種類のがんワクチンを併用するための経鼻投与型製剤の最適化と経鼻がん免疫ワクチン療法の有用性について検討を行う。
