Outline of Research at the Start

先天性ジカウイルス症候群は、ジカウイルスが妊婦に感染することにより胎児が発症する。先天性ジカウイルス症候群の症状の中で最も深刻なものは小頭症であるが、ジカウイルス感染がどのようにして胎児の神経発生の障害を誘導しているのか明らかになっておらず、有効な治療法はない。本研究は、ジカウイルス誘導性小頭症ゼブラフィッシュモデルを作製・解析し、その病態を改善させる薬剤をスクリーニングすることで、先天性ジカウイルス症候群における小頭症の病体形成機構の解明と治療戦略の構築を目指すものである。
