Outline of Research at the Start

希少がんには臓器横断的に生じ、発生臓器間で名称が統一されていないものがある。このような腫瘍は臓器横断的な概念構築により、共通した発生メカニズムが解明され、臓器横断的治療法の開発が可能となる。例として、以前は発生臓器毎でカルチノイドや内分泌腫瘍等に分類されていた、神経内分泌腫瘍(NET)が挙げられ、NET分類の確立は、その研究と診療を臓器横断的に進歩させた。本研究ではNET分類確立による医学の進歩をモデルとし、発生臓器毎の分類が未統一な、肉腫様成分を有するがんの臓器横断的共通性を示し、統一分類と概念を提供する。またそのバイオリソースを拡充させ、肉腫様変化の本態解明や治療法開発基盤を構築する。
