Outline of Research at the Start	マラリア流行地において発生する薬剤耐性マラリアを高い再現性で単離する実験系を構築することが本研究の目的である。そのためには流行地由来のマラリア原虫の進化速度を加速させ、そこに薬剤を負荷することで耐性化した原虫を単離する。単離した耐性原虫の遺伝的変化を解析し、その変化が流行地由来のマラリア原虫で起こっているかを検証する。以上の実験により、今後、流行地で出現する可能性がある薬剤耐性マラリア原虫を予測し、耐性メカニズムにフォーカスした薬剤開発への有益な情報を提供する。
