Outline of Research at the Start	類鼻疽菌は致死率が数十％にもなる類鼻疽の原因菌である。本菌は宿主細胞内で生存・増殖する細胞内寄生性細菌として知られ、細胞内寄生性に関わる遺伝子群が病原因子として報告されている。特に本菌の持つIII型分泌装置は細胞内寄生において主要な役割を持ち、重要な病原因子と考えられてきた。しかしIII型分泌装置を欠損させても、類鼻疽菌の細胞内寄生性は完全には失われず、さらにマウスに対して致死性も示すことが明らかとなった。そこで、本研究では類鼻疽菌のIII型分泌装置に依存しない病原機序の解明を目指す。
