Outline of Research at the Start	B型肝炎ウイルス（Hepatitis B Virus : HBV）は世界に約3億人ものキャリアが存在すると推定されている。現在、抗HBV療法にはウイルスの逆転写酵素を阻害する核酸アナログ製剤が用いられているが、現行の治療ではHBVを感染細胞から完全に排除することはできない。以上の背景から、cccDNAの根絶を目指した完全排除を目指した新規治療法の考案が喫緊の課題となっている。本研究では、HBV生活環制御メカニズムを解明し、HBV cccDNAの根絶というアンメットメディカルニーズに応える安全性・有効性の高い医薬品開発のための知見を得る。
