Outline of Research at the Start	重症熱性血小板減少症候群（SFTS）ウイルスはヒトに対して重症の熱性疾患を引き起こす一方で、野生型マウスには重篤な症状を起こさない。ヒト／マウス間の感染感受性の違いは、自然免疫において中心的役割を担うインターフェロン（IFN）のシグナル伝達系下流にあるSTAT2の機能をSFTSウイルスが阻害できるかどうかに依存することが示唆されている。本研究では、マウスのIFN応答を回避できるマウス馴化SFTSウイルス、マウスのSTAT2をヒトのSTAT2に入れ替えたノックインマウスを用いてヒトの感染病態を再現可能なSFTSの新規マウスモデル開発に挑む。
