| Outline of Research at the Start |
閉塞性睡眠時無呼吸症（OSA）は肥満と密接な関係を有する頻度の高い疾患であり、無呼吸による夜間の慢性間欠的低酸素（CIH）状態を病態の本質とする。OSAは非アルコール性脂肪性肝疾患（NAFLD）の発症に強い関連性がある。さらに、OSAの病態は動脈硬化を促進し、心血管イベントの頻度を上昇させることが知られている。本研究では、OSA＋NAFLD患者の動脈硬化予測因子を動物実験によって明確にし、さらにOSA患者の血清を用いてそれを検証する。これによって新たな動脈硬化予測因子を明らかにし、夜間低酸素の改善がNAFLD、ひいては動脈硬化を抑制する新規治療法として有用であることを提案したい。
