Outline of Research at the Start

ALSは、難治性の神経変性疾患であるが、有用な早期診断マーカーや根治療法は未だ開発されておらず、その開発が切望される。そこで、我々は、ALS患者の試料を用いて、non-coding RNAと病態、病型との関連性を解析し、分子マーカーおよび治療候補となるnon-coding RNAを同定するとともに、次世代型のdrug delivery systemである細胞特異的結合ペプチドとnon-coding RNAを組み合わせることで、核酸医薬のピンポイントな標的化による遺伝子輸送システムを開発し、安定性および特異性を備えた、ALSへの新たな遺伝子治療法の開発を行うこととした。
