Outline of Research at the Start	パーキンソン病(PD)は凝集タンパク質 (Lewy小体)の形成を特徴とする神経変性疾患であり、根治薬は存在しない。そのため、凝集タンパク質を除去する仕組みを理解することはパーキンソン病の治療薬開発において重要である。本課題は申請者らが見出した凝集タンパク質の分解を誘導する化合物がどのように働くかを明らかにすることで、その分解機構を明らかにすることを目的としている。この研究により、タンパク質凝集体のクリアランスにおいて中心的な役割を果たす可能性が明らかになれば、PDだけでなく、タンパク質凝集を特徴とする神経変性疾患治療薬の開発に新たな展望をもたらすことが期待できる。
