Outline of Research at the Start

脳の局所的異常による難治てんかんは皮質異形成や低悪性度脳腫瘍などが主な原因だが、病的なてんかんネットワークを形成している領域を同定する方法が未確立であり、切除による発作消失率は約60%と低い。そこで本研究では、てんかん外科症例の脳切除検体の遺伝子解析を行い、脳波データの高周波数脳波解析と組み合わせることにより、てんかん病変の分子遺伝学的異常の違いが病的てんかんネットワーク形成の違いにどのように関与しているのかを明らかにする。それによっててんかん原性領域を術前により正確に推定することが可能となり、予後向上に寄与する。
