Outline of Research at the Start

ムコ多糖症II型（MPS II）は、イズロン酸-2-スルファターゼ（IDS）遺伝子の欠損により生じる遺伝性疾患であり、中枢神経病変や心臓弁膜症、骨格変形などの症状を呈する。本疾患に対しては酵素補充療法が確立しているものの毎週の酵素投与が必要であり、新たな治療法の開発が望まれている。本研究では、採取しやすく利便性の高いリンパ球に着目し、細胞送達能を高めた治療遺伝子を搭載するレンチウイルスベクターを用いたリンパ球遺伝子治療のMPS IIへの有効性について検討する。
