Outline of Research at the Start

脊髄髄膜瘤(開放性二分脊椎)とは、生涯に渡る神経損傷を来す先天性奇形で1/2000人の頻度で生じる。胎児期に進行する神経損傷を防ぐ目的で,妊娠中期の子宮開放手術による胎児髄膜瘤閉鎖術が米国で開発され、現在本邦でも保険適応を目指して臨床研究として行われている。しかし上記手術での完全な神経機能回復は難しく、母体・胎児への高侵襲により早産率が高い。本研究では、上記欠点の克服のため将来の臨床応用を見据えたトランスレーショナルリサーチとして低侵襲かつ妊娠早期に行える次世代新規脊髄髄膜瘤治療法の開発を行う。
