Outline of Research at the Start

原発性硬化性胆管炎（PSC）は慢性的な胆管炎と線維化を特徴とする原因不明の疾患であり、未だに有効な治療法が存在しない。PSCは炎症性腸疾患を高率に合併することから、PSCの病態における腸内細菌の関与が注目されている。しかしながら、腸内細菌が病態に寄与する具体的な機序は未だ十分に解明されていない。今回、申請者は腸管において抗原特異的免疫応答に関与するM細胞に着目し、M細胞の分化を生じないSpi-B KOマウスでPSCモデルを作製することで、腸内細菌がM細胞を介した腸管免疫応答によってPSCの病態に寄与するかを明らかにし、PSCの診断・治療法に結び付く新たな知見を得ることを目指す。
