Outline of Research at the Start	日本において増加傾向にある炎症性腸疾患（IBD)の発症機序として、環境因子が腸内細菌に影響を及ぼした結果生じる腸管内代謝産物の変化がもたらす腸管上皮バリアー機能異常が考えられてきた。個々の患者の発症原因を突き止めるためには、患者の元の細胞状態を知ることが重要である。故に、細胞の時間軸を戻すため、organoid-iPS細胞化システム開発に取り組んできた。真の個別化医療とは「個々の患者のニーズを対象とした治療法であり、臨床症状が類似している他の患者と区別するもの」である。今回我々が取り組む研究内容はまさに個別化医療への展開であり、将来のIBD予防医学へつながるものと考えている。
