Outline of Research at the Start

慢性B型肝炎の原因であるB型肝炎ウイルス（HBV）は、肝細胞に感染し、ウイルス複製の鋳型であるcovalently closed circular DNA（cccDNA）が形成する。そのため、cccDNAの排除がHBV感染症の根治となるが、現時点では有効な治療法はない。HBVは、外殻タンパク質であるHBs抗原を細胞外へ放出し、宿主免疫を撹乱することで、HBV感染細胞、すなわちcccDNAの排除を妨害している。そこで、本研究では、我々が開発したHBVレポーターである、HBV-HiBiT-PS2をスクリーニングに用い、HBs抗原の放出阻害能を有する低分子化合物を同定し、cccDNAの排除につながる治療法を開発する。
