我々はHelicobacter suis(H. suis)分離培養に成功し、H. suis感染が胃疾患の病原細菌であることを証明した(PNAS,2021)。また血清抗体を用いたH. suis感染の診断法を開発した(iScience,2023)。
パーキンソン病(PD)の発症にはα-シヌクレインが関与し、発症機序としては脳一腸相関が重要であり、腸内細菌叢や迷走神経が関与していると考えられているが、そのメ力ニズムは不明である。H. suis感染PDでは死亡率が高率であることが既報にあることから、PDの病態や増悪因子にH. suisが関与しているかを解明することを目的に、疫学調査と動物感染実験を行う。
