Outline of Research at the Start	気管支喘息は治療法の進歩により死亡者数は減少しているが、難治性喘息は臨床的課題であり、その病態解明が望まれている。喘息病態進展には、気道上皮バリア機能の低下により外来アレルゲンの侵入と免疫担当細胞が関与する。近年、鉄依存性脂質過酸化による新規細胞死であるフェロトーシスが発見され、喘息病態への関与が報告された。フェロトーシスは細胞間接着因子であるE-カドヘリン-Hippo経路によって制御され、細胞接着の破綻によりフェロトーシスが亢進する。アレルゲンによる気道バリア破壊とフェロトーシスが難治化に関与するとの仮説を立て、難治性病態解明を目的に検討を行う。
