Outline of Research at the Start	肺NTM症は女性に多くみられる一方で、加齢と男性であることが増悪因子として報告されている。本症における、性差と加齢の影響については、十分に研究されてこなかった。申請者は、メス老齢・若齢肺NTN感染マウスを用いた研究から、Th1免疫とSecretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI)が重要な役割を果たしていることを明らかにした。これらは、性ホルモンの影響を受けることが知られている。本研究では、肺NTM症における性差と加齢の影響を性ホルモン濃度、粘液線毛クリアランス、Th1免疫、SLPIの観点から明らかにし、新規標的治療といった臨床応用へ展開するための基盤となる成果を目指す。
