Outline of Research at the Start	ポドサイト特異的にムチン型糖鎖欠損マウスは、巣状分節性糸球体硬化症様を示し、タンパク尿の出現が一過性であるという稀な表現型をもつ。また、全身性誘導型のムチン型糖鎖欠損マウスでは、より重篤な腎機能低下を示すことから、ポドサイト以外の腎組織においてもムチン型糖鎖が重要である可能性が考えられる。腎臓におけるムチン型糖鎖欠損が起因となる生体機能異常の理解のため、ムチン型糖鎖上のシアル酸に注目して、ポドサイトの血液濾過機能の回復機構を解明する。また、近位尿細管におけるムチン型糖鎖欠損マウスの表現型解析により、腎臓におけるムチン型糖鎖の生理的機能の統合的理解を目指す。
