Outline of Research at the Start

成人T細胞白血病 (ATL)は、ヒトT細胞白血病ウイルス1型 (HTLV-1)の感染に起因する極めて悪性度の高い白血病であり、その根治治療法は未だ確立されていない。急性型ATL患者では末梢血中に夥しい数の白血病化したCD4陽性T細胞 (ATL細胞)が観察される。ATL細胞の暴発的増殖のメカニズムは、HTLV-1感染細胞に蓄積する遺伝子変異が一因と考えられているが、増殖の場やその環境については不明な点が多い。申請者は最近、急性型患者のATL細胞は、末梢血よりもリンパ節で増殖していることを報告した。そこで本研究では、リンパ節におけるATL細胞の増殖機構の解明を目的とする。
