Outline of Research at the Start	この研究では、血糖調節に重要な役割を果たす膵β細胞ではたらく遺伝子を、遺伝子からできるRNAを精密に解析する技術を用いて特定します。そのRNAから得られた情報と、若い年齢で糖尿病となった人のうち、すでに知られている原因遺伝子で説明できない人のすべての遺伝情報(ゲノム情報)とを組み合わせて、膵β細胞で重要な役割を果たし、糖尿病の原因となる新しい遺伝子を発見します。そして、糖尿病という病気が起こるメカニズムを解明します。
