Outline of Research at the Start

性ホルモン依存性腫瘍である乳癌の治療成績向上のためには内分泌療法や化学療法への耐性化メカニズムを明らかにすることが強く求められている。そこで我々は性ホルモンによる細胞外マトリックスの生理活性調節という観点からこの課題に挑む。代表的な細胞外マトリックスであるコンドロイチン硫酸は硫酸基の付加部位によって多彩な生理活性を示すが、硫酸基付加部位が性ホルモンによって調節を受けている可能性が近年の研究により示唆されている。本研究では乳癌細胞における性ホルモンによる硫酸基転移酵素の発現制御の可能性に着目し、培養細胞や臨床検体を用いた多角的アプローチにより検証を行う。
