Outline of Research at the Start

1型糖尿病に対する根治療法として門脈への膵島細胞移植が行われる。しかし細胞塊による塞栓や早期グラフトの消失が大きな課題となっている。膵島細胞生着向上につながる新しい移植法の開発が求められている。本研究では研究代表者の新たな赴任先である琉球大学で開発された生体吸収性不織布（特許第6783969号）を用いて積層化した脂肪幹細胞シートを使用。ヒト膵島細胞と共移植し血管誘導能を強化した「3-D膵島細胞シート」を作製し、皮下移植を標準とする膵島細胞移植医療の構築を試みる。
