Outline of Research at the Start	糖尿病患者における血管障害メカニズムを解明することを目的とした研究である。糖尿病で蓄積して強い生理活性を有する糖化最終産物が、内皮細胞へどのような影響を与えるかについて検討する。研究開始当初は、ヒト内皮細胞を用いた細胞レベルでの研究を行い、その成果をマウスを用いた動物実験で確認する。順調に進めば、糖化最終産物の血管障害を阻害しうる物質を探求し、糖化最終産物による血管障害への介入策を提示したい。
