Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では敗血症治療後の合併症である集中治療後症候群（PICS）に対して、神経ステロイドの効果を検討する事を目的としている。細胞レベルで神経ステロイドの影響を検討するとともに、敗血症モデルの動物を用いて、神経ステロイドがPICSの根幹である筋力低下および認知機能障害に対して予防効果があるかを検討する。神経ステロイドは鎮静薬としても近年、研究が進められており麻酔領域では臨床研究も行われている。今回、PICSの予防効果が認められれば、集中治療における鎮静薬として広く用いられるようになる可能性があると考えられる。
