Outline of Research at the Start	膠芽腫は強い治療抵抗性を示す非常に予後不良な悪性脳腫瘍である。その原因の一つに治療抵抗性があり新たな治療開発が重要である。申請者らは先行研究で、レモングラス精油の90%を占める主成分であるシトラールが膠芽腫細胞に対して強い抗腫瘍効果を示すことを同定した。シトラールは低分子化合物であり、空気中に蒸発しやすい事から、“香り（アロマ）”を用いた新しい膠芽腫治療が期待できる。本研究で、シトラールの膠芽腫に対する抗腫瘍効果の作用機序を明らかにし、レモングラス精油が抗腫瘍アロマになり得るかを検討する。
