Outline of Research at the Start	変形性膝関節症（膝OA）進行の要因として半月板の石灰化に焦点をあて、そのメカニズムとしてWntシグナルの関与について調査する。半月板の石灰化を抑制できれば膝OAの発症や進行を予防できる可能性がある。過剰な力学的負荷や炎症性サイトカインの存在下でWntシグナルが半月板の石灰化に重要な役割を果たすかどうかという点を明らかにする。本研究によりOAの発症や進行の予防に対する新しい指針や創薬につながる知見をもたらすことが期待される。
