Outline of Research at the Start

本邦における超高齢社会の到来により、腰痛などによる運動器障害が高齢者の要支援・要介護の主因となり社会的問題となっている。われわれはこれまでに、臨床研究において変性に伴う椎体終板障害と腰痛との関連について明らかにしてきた。しかしながら、骨粗鬆症などによる椎体の骨密度低下による椎体終板障害に対する影響については未解明な部分が多い。そこで本研究では、椎体終板障害に対する骨粗鬆症の関与について、マウスモデルを用いて明らかにする。
