Outline of Research at the Start

膀胱癌に対する免疫チェックポイント阻害剤の効果は限定的で、腫瘍細胞の免疫逃避にはPD-1/PD-L1以外にも多くの経路が利用されている。次世代免疫チェックポイント阻害剤の候補分子と考えられているのがPD-L1が属するB7 familyであり、本研究ではその中でもpreclinical studyで腫瘍の縮小効果が期待された、共抑制分子のリガンドであるB7-H3, B7-H4, B7-H5に着目をしている。膀胱癌におけるB7 familyの発現プロファイルの解明や免疫細胞との空間解析を行うことでB7 familyの機能解析を進め、膀胱癌における新規治療開発につなげていくことを目的とする。
