Outline of Research at the Start

腹膜播種を伴う進行卵巣癌に対する有効な治療法は未だに確立されていない。そのため腫瘍の病勢を制御することで難治性を打破する新たな治療戦略が期待される。卵巣癌において末梢血中の好中球が高値であると予後不良であるという報告や、好中球には多様な機能や表現型が見られるという報告が存在することから、卵巣癌関連好中球（ovarian cancer-associated neutrophils: OCANs）が存在する可能性に注目し、本研究では、卵巣癌細胞と好中球との関係性に着目し、癌微小環境中のOCANsの特徴を明らかにし、それが癌進展へどのように寄与するのかを解明する。
