Outline of Research at the Start

子宮筋腫は性成熟期女性の約30％が罹患しているとされる。子宮筋腫は卵巣ステロイドホルモンにより増大することがわかっており、縮小を期待してGnRHアンタゴニスト製剤であるレルゴリクスが広く用いられる。しかし実際はその縮小効果に差があり、本研究ではこの差に関して子宮筋腫組織における遺伝子発現に着目した。レルゴリクスによる縮小効果に大きな差のあった子宮筋腫組織の遺伝子発現を比較することで、縮小効果に関連する遺伝子の特定する。さらに縮小効果に関連する遺伝子をターゲットとした薬剤を同定し、レルゴリクスとの併用で筋腫縮小効果を増強する薬剤の発見を目指す。さらには子宮筋腫の新規治療法の開発につなげたい。
