Outline of Research at the Start

生活の質を低下させるアレルギー性疾患は近年増加の一途と辿っており、日本国民の約半数が罹患している国民病である。アレルギー性疾患の克服を目指し、国は法律を整備するなどアレルギー疾患研究を強く推進している。われわれが着目するIgE は免疫グロブリンの一種で、アレルギー性疾患の病態形成に重要な役割を担っており広く認知されているが、ヒト IgE のクラススイッチのメカニズムは不明な点が多い。本研究の学術的「問い」は ① ヒト IgE のクラススイッチの制御に関わる責任分子は何か ? ② 免疫グロブリン遺伝子上で近接する IgG4 と IgE のクラススイッチにおける関係性は存在するのか ? である。
