腫瘍環境における肥満細胞（MC）の出現は、腫瘍の血管新生、浸潤および転移に特徴的な要因の１つであり、MCの重要性が多くの悪性腫瘍において指摘されているが、唾液腺癌や口腔癌におけるMCの病態意義は未だ不明である。我々はこれまで粘表皮癌や多形腺腫由来癌でMCから放出されるキマーゼ関連物質の積極的な関与を報告してきた。本研究では、全国有数の症例数を有する本学に蓄積された臨床および組織学的データを用いて、唾液腺腺様嚢胞癌および口腔扁平上皮癌におけるMCの発現様式とその病態意義を検証し、新たな非侵襲的な薬物療法のターゲットを見出すアプローチのための分子基盤を確立させる。
