Outline of Research at the Start	網膜変性疾患はいずれも発症が加齢と強く関係するが、変性のオンセットの背景として、眼内での加齢に関連した炎症サーキットの活性化が想定され、その実体と分子機序について研究を進めてきた。一方で、加齢黄斑変性症、糖尿病性網膜症は、新生血管や血管障害が病態進展の重要な要因であり、血管に関わる研究や創薬に多くの知見が蓄積されている。本研究では血管性、非血管性の網膜変性マウスモデルを併用し、各種サイトカインの役割と作用点の解析, 阻害効果の評価とメカニズムの解明を中心軸に据えて、血管新生、網膜内炎症が病態のオンセットにどのように関わり、進展していくのか明かにすることを目的とする。
