Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の概要は，白内障手術中に使用する手術補助剤（粘弾性物質）の代替物質となるハイドロゲルを開発することである．白内障手術時では，術野の空間維持や眼内組織の保護を目的として粘弾性を有する手術補助剤を用いることが必須である．しかし既存物質は手術中の創口からの漏出により数回にわたる再注入が必要であることや，術後眼内に残存した補助剤による眼圧上昇，品質が安定せず製品の供給停止に陥る，などの様々な課題が存在する．本申請ではそれらの欠点を解消すべく，高い眼内貯留性，低浸透圧，完全合成系のハイドロゲルを用い，既存物質に変わる新規白内障手術補助剤の開発を目指す．
