Outline of Research at the Start

「痛み」は、身体に対して有害な刺激が生じていることを知らせる信号として、生物の命を守るために不可欠な仕組みである。その一方で、様々な疾病の「痛み」は患者の生活の質を損なう原因となり、重要な治療対象でもある。血管奇形は1996年に初めて定義・分類された比較的新しい疾患概念であり、病因や適切な治療法など依然不明な点が多く、現状根本的治療法のない難病である。静脈奇形は血管奇形の中で最も多く見られ、主要な症状の一つとして疼痛を生じるが、そのメカニズムは未だ解明されていない。今回の研究では患者より採取した静脈奇形の検体を用いた検討を行い、静脈奇形の疼痛メカニズムを解明することを目的とする。
