Outline of Research at the Start	片側の顔面神経麻痺に対する急性期の治療として、移植神経を介して健側顔面神経の軸索を表情筋へ誘導する顔面交叉神経移植術は有用な方法ではあるが、回復までに表情筋の萎縮が進行し、十分な効果を得にくいことが最大の問題である。頭蓋内や側頭骨内の腫瘍による圧排、もしくはその摘出操作に伴う顔面神経麻痺が危惧される疾患において、予防的に神経再建を行うことができれば、表情筋の脱神経期間は劇的に短縮することが予想される。動物モデルを用いて、その効果を検証する。
