Outline of Research at the Start

ケロイド・肥厚性瘢痕は致命的な疾患ではなく、軽視される傾向にあるが、その患者の実情としては、醜形や疼痛等の症状に苦しんでいる人が多くみられる。しかしながらケロイド・肥厚性瘢痕の形成機構は未だ不明な点が多く、治療法は限定的である。その形成機構を解明することで、ケロイド・肥厚性瘢痕の新たな治療さらには予防法を確立し、傷跡を残さない創傷治癒を実現して人類のQOLの向上に大きく貢献できると考えている。
