Outline of Research at the Start

唾液を分泌する唾液腺は、口腔と全身の健康維持において重要な役割を果たしている。唾液減少による口腔乾燥は、口腔疾患のみならず、全身の健康を著しく低下させることから根本的な治療が必要である。唾液腺に存在する筋上皮細胞は、幹細胞としての役割をもち、組織再生において重要な役割を果たすことが予測される。本研究では、組織学的、分子生物学的手法を用いて、唾液腺筋上皮細胞の組織再生能を明らかにする。さらに、細胞増殖と分化を促進するとの報告があるインスリン様成長因子が、唾液腺筋上皮細胞による組織再生能に及ぼす影響を検討する。
