Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、高齢動物由来顎骨MSCで生じるSASP増加のメカニズムを明らかにし、さらに動物実験で骨再生に適したSASP因子による顎骨再生を抑制する影響を薬剤を用いて排除する方法を見出す。この様なトランスレーショナル・リサーチ的な一面が学術的に独創的な点の一つである。単なる高齢動物由来MSC移植後の創傷治癒過程・骨形成過程の動物実験レベルの検討ではなく、高齢動物由来顎骨MSCのSASP抑制に適切な薬剤を検証し、将来への臨床応用につなげることが重要な目的であるため、この研究は今後の再生療法の発展に大いに貢献できる。
