Outline of Research at the Start	近年、性ホルモンが口腔内環境の変化と大きく関わっていることが示唆されてきたが、そのメカニズムは明らかでなかった。また、口腔内領域にとどまらず、全身疾患においても「性差医療」が注目されている。既に、心血管疾患と歯周病のコホート研究において性差を認めることが報告されており、今後さらに性差を考慮した治療法の確立が必要となってくる。本研究の目的は、女性ホルモンと口腔内環境および口腔内細菌の変化を解析しメカニズムの一端を明らかにすることで、心血管疾患や糖尿病、慢性腎不全を含む様々な全身疾患の予防および治療法に貢献していくことである。
