Outline of Research at the Start

Faecalibacterium prausnitziiはヒト腸内に常在する主要な酪酸産生菌で，長寿者の腸内において最優勢菌である。本菌の増減が腸内環境の健全度の指標となることが示唆されている。また，プロバイオティクスとしてF. prausnitziiのクローン病治療への応用が検討されている。そこで本研究は，簡易かつ特異的にF.prausnitziiを分離・同定可能な検査法の確立，生体内における詳細な分布と本菌と口腔疾患との関連性の調査，プロバイオティクス実用化に向け大量培養が可能な発育因子の検索を行う。
