Outline of Research at the Start

知的障害者の機能低下は、一般成人より早く40歳前後から兆候がみられ、その後は急速に進むと報告されており知的障害者に対するフレイル予防対策は若・中齢期から行うことが望ましいと考えられるがいまだ確立されていないという課題がある。申請者らは、これまでに要介護高齢者に対する口腔健康管理法として口腔ケアに舌清掃を加えて実施することで口腔環境の改善だけでなく宿主因子である呼吸機能の向上や食欲増進作用のあるグレリンの分泌を促進について報告してきた。本研究では、知的障害者の健康寿命延伸を目指し、若・中齢期からフレイル予防のための舌清掃介入を行い呼吸機能と栄養状態への影響について明らかにすることを目的としている。
