Outline of Research at the Start

オーラルフレイルは、進行すると身体的フレイルや要介護状態に繋がる。そのため、口腔と栄養の両方から高齢者の食生活をサポートすることが重要である。しかし、オーラルフレイル対策に有用な栄養介入方法は未だ確立していない。一方で、これまでの申請者らの予備実験や先行研究から、炎症抑制機能をもつ栄養素と口腔機能低下との関連が明らかになっている。そこで、本研究では、地域在住高齢者を対象に前向きコホート研究とランダム化比較試験を行い、炎症性の低い食事によりオーラルフレイルの発症進展予防に寄与できるかを検討する。
