Outline of Research at the Start

口腔に常在する細菌は歯周病や齲蝕を引き起こす。近年では、これらの口腔細菌が心臓、肺や子宮などの全身の健康状態にも影響を及ぼすことが明らかにされている。
そのため本研究では、口腔や全身臓器における口腔細菌の詳細を病原性や細菌叢に着目しながら明らかにすることを目的とする。
細菌叢の解析と細菌の宿主の免疫機構に及ぼす影響を解明することで、健康寿命の延伸に向けた国の取組に貢献したいと考える。
