Outline of Research at the Start

我が国では糖尿病有病者と予備群を合わせると約2,000万人以上となり、近年急増している。また、40歳以上の3人に1人が糖尿病である。糖尿病は糖尿病性神経障害・網膜症・腎症や脳・心筋梗塞などの合併症を誘発する恐ろしい疾患である。生活習慣病に関わる糖代謝と唾液蛋白質との関係は不明である。本研究は、抗菌作用のある唾液蛋白質ヒスタチンによる糖代謝とその関連因子に与える影響について明らかにする。
