Outline of Research at the Start

高齢者の骨折は寝たきりや認知症を誘発し５年生存率も癌より低い。また、乳幼児の虐待では特徴的な骨折が認められるが、エックス線では発見が難しい。日本は少子高齢化社会となり、高齢者の健康寿命を延ばし子どもの成育環境を良くすることが社会の課題であるが、骨折はこの問題を悪化させる重大な疾患である。これらの骨折を早期発見できるスクリーニング検査の確立が望まれる。我々は骨で産生され血液から検出されるFGF23が骨形成に関与していることを示し、骨形成を血中FGF23分解産物量で定量化し評価する方法を開発した。 本研究では血中FGF23分解産物量と骨折や骨粗しょう症との関連を解明し診断基準の確立を目的とする。
